New power supply for KD controllers

We offer a new product from MERAWEX - the KDH-ZAS12 / 6/17 power supply with a nominal voltage of 13.8 VDC, intended primarily for KDH-KS3024-IP controllers due to current efficiency of 6 A, which allows power to the controller module, readers and four locks, with a power consumption of up to 1 A for each. The power supply has three outputs. The first of them is used to supply power to the locks and is protected against short circuit by means of a thermistor. The second output - with a capacity of 1 A (also protected by a thermistor) - is intended for supplying the controller module with four readers. The third output is for connecting a battery. Thanks to the space in housing, power supply is intended for charging battery with a capacity of up to 18 Ah. This enables much longer operation of the controller, readers and locks after loss AC power. This is the first model in our offer for KD controllers with a battery capacity up to 18 Ah. Installers and customers often asked about the possibility of extending the time of the KD system in power loss case. Due to this new model should be very popular. Until now, we have offered the APSAAT4 model to power controllers designed to operate four doors, but it only works with a 7 Ah battery.
The KDH-ZAS12 / 6/17 buffer PSU has holes on the back for mounting KaDe controllers KS2000, KS3000 series and Kantech KT-1.
In the case of controllers operating one door, the operating time after a power loss will increase significantly. This time can be calculated by adding the currents loading the power supply and using the appropriate formula for the discharge time battery. The voltage is monitored when using the battery. The battery is disconnected when the safe level of 10.5 V is reached, allowing it to be recharged again.

The PSU is equipped with a module that monitors its operation status and provides NO / NC signals informing about network power loss and the transition to battery operation mode. Low battery voltage level is also monitoring. The NO / NC outputs, as well as the contacts of the enclosure door open sensor, should be connected to the free zones of the detection lines in the controller and describe their functions in the zone names.
